Under the Sea 49andMarket ‘shipwreck’

Image
Under the Sea ..... 49andMarket ‘Shipwreck’ This was a wall embroidery hoop from Spotlight. I created a water colour background with blue and purple watered down Nuvo shimmer dusts. They turned out lovely the shimmery surface cannot be seen in this photo. This frame was created with the Shipwreck range and punch outs were in the 12x12 sheet which I used most of. I didn’t have to fussy cut! That was the best part. I used mini hoops from stamping up and watercoloured a piece of white card.  I used a range of colour co-ordinated ribbons and wooden themed embellishments.  Everything was raised with 3D dots, the background used sequins and seed beads to make it look like bubbles and sand.  I made this for my daughter to decorate her wall. It’s soft and muted and dreamy. Much like a dream catcher. I hope you enjoy this project as much as I enjoyed making it.  All my love Mel xxxx thetwilightscrapper

Our Adventure 49andmarket

Image
Our Adventure  .... 49andMarket- Mel Parnell  The background page came from 49 and Market range of 12x12 paper Shipwreck. The dark blue under the sea background paper was great to stencil heavy paste on.  I coloured it with Dylusions aqua spray. I also used bird die cuts flying across the page , and hexagon shapes paper punched across the background.  Under the framed photo was a few pieces of shipwreck paper cut to different sizes and raised behind the photo.  The ephemera came from the 12x12 precut shipwreck range page I raised them all with 3-d dots. The die cut nets were coloured with brown distress ink.  I embellished this pages with one crystal pin, bottle cap, navy twine, gold/ pastel  seed beads and , wooden sentiments. The titles ‘Our Adventure’ are from ‘Boys Rule‘ Cocoa vanilla range.  I framed the photo with a cut out from the ephemera page.  I cut the due cut  net up and spaced it across the page under the ephemera.  The left over die cut card from the birds was made to st

Grateful ‘Kaisercraft’ serenity range

Image
Grateful  .......  The inspiration for this is the new Kaisercraft range ‘Serenity’. It was glorious to create, the idea came from ta Kmart hacks site on Facebook . Originally I saw a wedding framed picture and I thought what a great gift for a dear friend if I could pull it off.  The background was using the water coloured paper with white gesso. The smaller frame I used darker paper (grey) with the same hexagon stencil. I splattered Heidi Swapp teal shimmer spray on the background.  I stuck the patterned washi type tapes on the small frame aaround the mint card backed photo. I started the layer all the flowers from the serenity collection around the photo and the frame.   All the chipboard titles were painted with white acrylic paint.  I glued down all the flowers, added aqua kindy glitz, acetate, fabric lace and water coloured using Vicki Boutin water colour brushes. The dirty stamp was used to imprint the background this will create extra interest.  I just loved this range it was p

‘Cherish’ 49andmarket

Image
Cherish   Today’s Cherish canvas was inspired by friends. During these COVID times reflection of my daughter final year of primary school with her friends. These photos bring with them happy memories. The whole canvas was painted with acrylic paints (Art alchemy - opal magic yellow-pink, teal- pink )  I used the plus stencil ( dusty attic)  to craft a texture background with white modelling paste.  I backed the 49 market frames with the 49andmarket ‘ sky vintage paper stacks’ and ‘sky vintage stitched frames’.these 3 cards would take up the frame leaving the edges bare. one if the cards in the paper stack was used to jar tags and embellish these frames.    I created embellishments but tying twine and loosely woven bandage fabric, flowers ( Kaisercraft paper flowers)  and wooden words.  I sprayed the bandage fabric the edges of the frames I wiped with brown delusions, I wiped gold perfect pearls on the edges to create shine. I glued gold seed beads to the netting fabric to make it look

Mini Album ‘Today’

Image
Birthday Album ‘Today’ Today’s project started as one sided pink edged cards (6). The cards were glued together to make a small accordion album.   Using a Plusses stencil and diamond stamp I created a background with tattered angel red chalkboard  spray/ diamond cling stamp and I coloured some modelling paste with dylusions teal spray and applied it to the stencil.  I hand drew the circles on the background ‘doodling’. I wiped excess water a teal paint on the edges of the album. Painted some leaves too.  I used Savannah’s dreams by Kim Watson to create some flaps and arrows to hide photos in.  Using some die cuts which I coloured with aqua ink. I journalled on the tags and throughout the album. I used sequins, wooden words and shapes, enamel dots, pins and mini doilies. This album could have many colour themes and photos attached. To close the album I have used a peg, this will also help it stand up.  Happy crafting lovelies, Mel xxx the twilight scrapper

Remember Me Tags- Mini project

Image
Remember Me Tags   By Twilight Scrapper  These tags were created  from some multimedia materials I was given from Scrap of your Life. I can describe them as shimmery and glittery. I have used them in conjunction with inks and dyes. You’ll see in my construction As well as all the parts and how all the colours go together .  I used modelling paste mixed with some Opal Magic teal blue Acrylic paint. It added some dimension on the cream coloured tag and then I added Nuvo teal sparkle burst. I used a paint brush with water spray all over the tag and then moved it around with a paint brush. It started to look like shimmery paint then I dried it with a heat gun. I used the grey ink spray with water to colour the tag then I used a deep green teal pad to diamond to stamp the background of each tag. I used Versa Magic night sky to edge the tag and to lightly colour some title I had cut from dues in white card stock. I wet these to disperse the ink and wiped the teal dust in them with a water br
